These additional elements and techniques may be covered if needed during other sections, for example, varnishing or glazing (applying thin transparent layers of paint) may be covered during lessons if needed to improve a painting, or they can be covered later. Neither varnishing or glazing are needed for every painting, but they are useful tools to have.
